  • Brain Injury Association of America - A national organization serving and representing individuals, families and professionals who are touched by a life-altering, often devastating, traumatic brain injury (TBI).
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - From the US Department of Health and Human Services, information and resources specific to Traumatic Brain Injury.
  • National Institute on Deafness and Other Communications Disorders - One of the Institutes that comprise the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIH is the Federal government's focal point for the support of biomedical research.
  • Medline Plus - Information to help answer health questions, easy access to medical journal articles and the latest news gathered from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other government agencies and health-related organizations.
  • National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke - NINDS supports and conducts research, fosters the training in the neurosciences and seeks better understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neurological disorders.

  • National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke - NINDS supports and conducts research, fosters the training in the neurosciences and seeks better understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neurological disorders.
  • National Spinal Cord Injury Association - The nation's oldest and largest civilian organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with the results of spinal cord injury and disease, and their families.

  • Spinal Cord Injury Information Network - Facts and information for patients and caregivers, including medical and phychological issues, research and education. There are sections on equipment, adapting homes and vehicles, recreation and service animals, as well as links to several newsletters.
  • American Spinal Injury Association - The American Spinal Injury Association is dedicated to promote standards of excellence, educate and foster research in the field of spinal cord injury.
  • Paralyzed Veterans of America - A leading advocate for veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction. PVA offers information on health care, research and education addressing spinal cord injury and dysfunction, benefits available as a result of military service and civil rights and opportunities which maximize independence.

Caregiver Support

  • Administration on Aging - The National Family Caregiver Support Program provides information and assistance in gaining access to supportive services. You can also learn where to find help, ways to take care of others and yourself, joining a caregiver support group and a variety of other useful resources and ideas.
  • Family Caregiver Alliance - Support services for those struggling to provide long term care for a loved one who does not "fit" into traditional health systems, such as adults with Alzheimer's disease, stroke, Parkinson's, traumatic brain injuries and other debilitating disorders.
