A CARF Accredited Structured Intensive Multidisciplinary Pain Program (SIMPP)
The Pain Program at St. Luke's provides services to help patients better manage chronic pain, improve physical abilities and return to work. Following an evaluation of strengths and weaknesses, a treatment plan is developed to improve the patient's physical activity and coping ability. Special focus is placed on creating an exercise program to improve strength, endurance and agility. Services include:
- Physical and occupational therapy
- Pain management classes/education
- Aquatic therapy
- Biofeedback training/counseling
- Psychological evaluation/treatment
The rehabilitation team provides outpatient therapy services Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Flexible hours may be arranged with individual therapists to meet the needs of patients and families. Patients participating in the Pain Program are seen every Monday through Friday 6-8 hours each day for four weeks in a row. The St. Luke’s team works closely with patients and their family to set goals for recovery. Therapy sessions are provided to reach the best possible results.
